Got to love it when a plan works out. Ended up having a great drift
for 40lb Bluefin this afternoon. First go around we had 10 going.
Had some heartbreaks which comes with the territory of light line
fishing. Very good end to the trip.
Just finished up a drift that started in the dark this
morning.
It took awhile to develop but ended working out very well
for the group.
Very good action on this 15 to 35lb grade yellowfin.
We are now out looking for some Bluefin to finish out the
trip. |

Aug. 27, 2019
Started out with some good action on these 25 to 40lb Bluefin with
occasional yellowfin. Got into the zone at around 1500 and found a
good school immediately. Drifted on the same batch of fish till dark
with 1 to 6 going at a time. Lots of casualties due to small hooks
and light line needed to hook these fish. Great start to our Bob
Michener 3 day trip.
Aug. 25, 2019
Ended up having a nice day with 17 of the these bigger Bluefin
hitting the deck. Great group of guys, awesome weather, and quality
fishing made for another great year fishing with the Oldenkamp
group.
Aug. 24, 2019
Nothing for several hours, then we found a nice school. It’s not
very eager to bite but we’re picking at them. Slow start this
morning but we’re starting to scratch away at the same mixed
yellowfin and bluefin.
Aug. 23, 2019
Started our 3 day Oldenkamp charter at this local tuna zone. Great
action on yellowfin and bluefin this afternoon. 25lb test and a 1/0
hook was the key. Sticking around to see what tomorrow holds for us.
Aug. 21, 2019
After a tough start this morning. We finished with a nice pick this
afternoon. Finished off with some nice fish.
Tomorrow we are headed up

Finished up in the bluefin grounds this afternoon. After
making a big move from the yellowtail grounds with 80yt in
the hole we had some good opportunities at mixed grade
bluefin from 35 to 100+lbs. We ended up with 17 fish of
various sizes with the majority being 35 to 50lbs with 3
pushing 80lbs. All the fish were caught on foamers. We
suffered abnormal casualties. Boats gets in tomorrow morning
