New update from June Heat 2018.
Report from the Captain: "Over the weekend we had slow fishing
at the Bank. A few nice fish up to 160 pounds on various techniques.
The weather is nice and the people are getting a LOT of rail time,
No cows over the weekend but enough to keep the people interested
whether it be a Wahoo or smaller grade fish."

Report from the Captain:
"First day we caught a dozen fish with biggest
fish on the troll on our way in here. Bobby Michener with a 208 on
the Nomad lure. Joe Armitsu won the daily Accurate jack pot with 190
on the fly lined sardine. We will see how it goes tomorrow morning
and try and get some flyers tonight"

Travelled up and spent the day fishing Bluefin tuna. They had a long
day of searching but the work payed off on a shot right before dark
for 25 fish 40 to 60 pounds
They saw a fair sign of bigger fish but nothing would cooperate.
They have another day to try for BFT and will be in the area first
light

The Red Rooster had a nice day today with a couple of fish over two
hundred pounds and a handful of fish threatening the 200 pound mark.
Another dozen fish in the mid hundreds to finish off a nice day, I
will keep you posted as they report in

Once again the wi-fi is down. Sorry for the inconvenience. The boat
is in good weather and all is well. The
first part of the trip has been slow but still plenty of time to
pull it off. I get a text from them every other day from a Iridium
phone that we have on board. I will stand by for the next transmission

Hey folks,
We are headed down in calm seas and
beautiful weather. The tanks are loaded with beautiful sardines from
the receivers and are anxious to put them to good use. The next
couple days will be spent rigging and preparing for wahoo and giant
yellowfin tuna. Wish us luck and more calm seas.

The weather has been awful on the way up from Cabo and right now the
crew are saying 1200 at the dock, I will

15 nice tuna biggest being 258 lb. We trolled up 19 wahoo midday and then
picked at the tuna in the late afternoon.

Good morning. We left yesterday on our
annual Bluefin Jim 15 day trip. This year hosted by Sonny Jones. We
dazzled the group this morning with a nice giveaway from Pelagic
gear and United composites. Thanks for the swag .
Tomorrow is the big generous raffle

Weather has been choppy but on our tail now.
Bait is small but good hook bait mixed
in.

The Red Rooster will be coming home tomorrow morning the 18th, with the
catch of the 7 day Puerto Vallarta Trip. 5 am with customs
and 6 am at the H&M dock.

on the scale. No other bites and one last try tonight before we head

One fish late today that weighed in at 202. A couple other fish lost
this morning that were big upsets .All

We spent the day inshore and had a fun morning on some exotics.

We had a couple A 201 and a 281.
After that we struggled to get a bite with good sign around us a few bites
on smaller grade fish this evening but these two were the highlight.

Tough day here with one nice fish in the morning a 253 caught by
Brian Howard.
We picked off a few other smaller 80 pound fish I. The evening but that was
about it. We are going to try another area I. The morning and then
head in for bait tomorrow night

281 was the big fish for the day. Not
much else to go with it, really tough for us to get a bite.

We picked off a few more decent fish In the afternoon with a pretty
good show of tuna.

Everyone got aboard safely last night and the bait survived the
ordeal.
So far we had a little signal this morning with 9 fish from 75 to 100
pounds with a 230 caught by George Tarrosa. After daylight
the sign went away but hopefully later we can find something to
work with

The pick up spot has changed,
From the airport or from in town take a cab to the cruise ship terminal and
go to gate 17 there are making us go into the harbor to clear and
that is where we will board at gate 17

After picking up a nice load of sardines we are on our way.
The weather has been great and looks to be the same for the next week. As
of now we are on schedule for a Puerto Vallarta arrival on Saturday
evening. We will update our ETA as we get closer

A nice shot of some of the smaller fish that made up for most of the
drift.
Nice school size fish in the 20to 30 pound range. A great finisher with for
the trip. We will be in at 6:30 tomorrow morning.
We had a nice day today fishing offshore.
We had a stop late morning and drifted until it was time to go home. Nice
fish mixed in with jackpots up in the 65 and 70 pound range.

We spent most of the day in one spot picking at yellowtail and
Bluefin tuna.
The morning was best but we managed to stay alive with the Bluefin until
afternoon. We are going to try it again tomorrow

We had a shot this afternoon on decent grade yellows.
What a slow morning of drifting and fishing around the Bank. Right at lunch
things fired up and we were able to stay steady for a little while.
Hopefully tomorrow we have a bigger window of biting fish

Very little sign of fish at the Island.
We caught one yellowtail for the day and saw 2 tuna jump and no bites . On
to the next spot in hopes of yellowtail tomorrow
Good morning,
We will be arriving in an hour to our first destination. Cleared customs
yesterday and travelled for the night and morning. We will keep you
posted on how it goes.
