Nice ride today and it looks like 7:00 at the dock. See you then
June 10, 2016
We made stop to break up the ride and had a nice afternoon on Yellowtail. The weather was perfect and got to catch fish as well Back on the road tonight and headed home
June 8, 2016
The Accurate sponsored June Heat 15 day trip started of on the inside where we found a mix of 60 to 120 pound fish with a chance at a cow each day. After four days we decided to head outside where we experience great fish on some real quality fish from 100 to 223 pounds. Most of the fishing was on the drift and the sharks were a problem , but we still managed to put together a beautiful catch of nice grade tuna. There was a little wahoo each day to mix it up with and that ate up the afternoon slow periods. One noteworthy thing was how tough these fish were in the hot water. Some of the toughest battles we have had all year on hundred plus pound fish. Another successful Accurate sponsored trip. Thanks Accurate for all the loaner gear and providing the Red Rooster with such a superior product
June 7, 2016
Another nice day to finish off the trip. Ralph Cox and Bob Hohman with a couple of really nice fish. A lot of hard battles to put together a great trip with an amazing grade of fish.
Steve with a nice 160 pounder. One of the toughest hard fought fish so far today
A couple of nice fish by Jesse and Billy
Lynn Freed with more color than his catch
Paul with a 158 pounder that won him a nice Accurate Hoody
Bob with a nice fish after a long drawn out battle
Paul with this 192 has him in contention for the Accurate daily Jack Pot
Bobby with a nice fish first thing in the morning
Here is a shot of Nate finishing up dress get out these three 120 to 150 pounders
June 6, 2016
"Ruby" finishing the day with a nice fish
Another hard fought day but ending up with a decent day of scratching at quality.
The grade here is really nice fish all over 100 pounds and a couple over 200
Judy at it with a 180 on the Kite
Mike with a nice fish 201 on the scale
Here is a group shot of a mid day hit we had on quality tuna
Jesse with what looks to be the daily Accurate Jack Pot winner with a 223# tuna. He is in the running for a Boss 600 series reel. Yesterday Laurens Rhinelander got Accurate Boos reel with the biggest bait fish being a 141 pounds
June 5, 2016
Richard Goka and Bill Walsh with a couple of nice fish. The sharks have pretty much taken over but steady fishing today looks like we will try it again tomorrow
Gil Ayon with a nice hundred plus pounder
Mile Gooing with a nice Kite fish
Nice morning guy drift fishing with quality fish from 100 to 192 pounds. Tough with the sharks but still able to keep putting fish aboard
June 4, 2016
Dave picked off this decent fish but most of our day we saw and picked at smaller grade fish .The porpoise did back off so we were able to soak baits but still pretty tough. Thankful for what we are getting but making a move to see what else is down here.We will be traveling tonight and fishing at 7:00 tomorrow morning
Started off with a couple fish. One fish 201 and it is hard to fish through the porpoise. Really have our work cut out for us. Once again pretty good sign just hard to soak a bait. Maybe later
June 3, 2016
Mike with a nice fish in the high hundreds
We had a few nice fish this morning and now watching fish jump around d that won't bite. Maybe they will settle in this afternoon and we can pick up the pace Leo scored this 215 this morning
Brian just picked this one off on the kite 185 was the weight of the fish
June 2, 2016
This one is Jesse, Anyway Biggest fish today was 181 pounds the Leo managed in the afternoon We will report again tomorrow.
Tough day here but the sharks backed off in the afternoon and we were able to pick while drifting. Plenty of sign here so hopefully tomorrow we can put together a nice day. Gil with a decent tuna.
Judy finished the day with this nice 178 pounder.Kite fish can't win the Accurate daily prize so Joe Armitsu wins a nice Cal star blank from Accurate
We had a pretty good bite on 60 to 120 pounder this afternoon. Only a couple got hit by sharks and for the most part they are not a problem. We are hoping as the conditions clean up we will get a few chances at some big fish. Happy to stay busy this afternoon
Here is a picture of happy Bob
May 30, 2016
We have had cool weather on the ride down nice calm seas and just a little afternoon sunshine. The water is cool coming down most of the way below 64.0 degrees. We made a quick stop at allijos and picked up a who for fish tacos tomorrow. Ralph Cox did the harvesting on that wahoo.
We will do another seminar tomorrow before lunch and be on the grounds the next day
May 28, 2016
We are finally on our way after 60 days of maintenance. Our Accurate sponsored June Heat 15 day trip is here. We left this morning and found ourselves scooping an amazing load of sardines for our 8 days of fishing. We have some prep to do tomorrow and will be spending the day getting things in fishing mode. Here is Leo .Finally made it!
Bill Walsh made this tidy little rod holder that clamps to the rail and can hold the big gear

Mar. 19, 2016We are headed up the line with beautiful weather after a nice trip that produced quality Yellowfin tuna and Wahoo.
We spent the first five days at Clarion and found scratch fish from 15 to 20 tuna a day and a few wahoo a day. The fishing was tough but we manage to throw on about 35 mixed tuna and wahoo a day. The sign was incredible but the sharks made it very challenging to bring fish aboard.
We spent the last two days outside at the Bank and had two really nice days of wahoo and tuna fishing .
Averaging 37 tuna a day and 50 wahoo a day with the first day being the best on the wahoo.
Really nice weather and a little less on the sharks made for classic Bank fishing with conditions that took the lines perfectly back behind the boat.
The kite was the tool of choice and also the balloons providing most of the bites with a great show on fish jumping around the boat and the Bank.
We will be in to unload on Wednesday the 23rd .
See you then Andy Cates

We our way up after finish our Blue Fin Jim and Pelagic clothing sponsored 15 day trip Starting the trip out at the Bank saw a downhill slide in fishing as we scratched about 35 tuna and 20 wahoo before heading inside. The fishing at the Island was hit and miss but the quality was there. We managed to be in the right place at the right time to scratch up another 80 tuna with an estimated 12 tuna over the 200 pound mark. A little here and a little there added up and yesterday was our finisher with a really nice day with 37 fish from 75 pounds up to 230 pounds with 4 fish over the 200 pound mark
We left last night due to the weather and are headed up in choppy windy conditions. We will be in on Sunday to weigh up the Jack Pot
